"Be the change you want to see in this world" - that is Sascha Sauer's motto.
He has been Managing Director CEE in Vienna since September 2022 and enriches Liefergrün with his many years of experience in the logistics industry.
C: What did you do for a living before delivery green?
S: "Before that, I lived and worked in Indonesia for four years, making handbags there and shipping them to Europe. Then I started working for Hermes in 2012. First for 1 ½ years in Hamburg as a Project Manager, then I went to Austria and worked as an authorized signatory, Head of Sales and Head of Logistics at Hermes, among other positions. After a total of 10 years, I made the decision in the middle of this year to leave Hermes and go to Liefergrün."
C: How did you come across delivery green?
S: "In fact, it wasn't me who came across Delivery Green, it was Delivery Green who came across me. It was a big step for me to leave the logistics giant. In the end, however, for me it was about my own impact and the opportunity to tackle one of the biggest challenges of our time. It's important to me to really advance the issue of sustainability in the logistics industry. At Liefergrün, I have the chance to implement it and multiply this impact. From now on, working together in a dynamic team and making a difference gives me a lot of motivation."
C: What are your tasks and goals?
S: "We have a clear goal. We want to establish Liefergrün as a sustainable standard mail order company throughout Austria. As Managing Director of the subsidiary in Vienna, it is my job to build up the site and strengthen the market in Austria. We plan to expand to other major cities in Austria, Vienna is the start."
C: What do you want for the coming period at Liefergrün? What visions do you have?
S: "I would like us to be present wherever sustainability finds relevance among the population. We are on fire for sustainability and will stay true to our vision of revolutionizing the last mile. We don't have to compromise because for us, sustainability and scalability go hand in hand.
I have a vision that we will be all over Europe, maybe even from Austria to Australia soon, who knows. What's clear is that Liefergrün has big things in store and I'm happy to be part of it, making the last mile sustainable in the future for Vienna and whatever else may come in the future."
